Shortly before 9 P.M. Todd came on stage while the apropos "Computer Love" played over the PA. Here are his opening remarks: "You know, the one thing that's characterized this tour so far is the prevalence of tables. It's kind of turning out to be something like a dinner theater tour, like, I've been traveling in the company of Camelot. I feel a little like Robert Goulet every once in a while, you know, (sings) If ever I would leave you...it would not be in summer..."
At this point I thought "uh oh, he's drunk again", but soon enough, he began to play. Here's the song list:
18)A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER
And that was it. The house lights came up, "Pretty Maids All In A Row" came over the speakers, and we made our way home. I'm kind of bummed that the show wasn't longer. No "Hawking" or "The Wheel" to push the show toward the 2 hour mark. Personal highlight: "Free, Male & 21". This was the first time I've heard this live and Todd didn't disappoint. Funny bit introducing the song, too. Lowlight: Todd's frequent screw-ups on piano & acoustic guitar. Embarrassing.
See you in Houston & New Orleans.
